8 Top Tips When Planning Your Wedding Stationery
Planning a wedding is a rollercoaster ride of excitement, but it's also filled with plenty of decisions that can be overwhelming for any couple. Ordering your wedding stationery is just one of these BIG decisions and is a crucial part of setting the tone for your big day. To help make your wedding planning ride that little bit easier, we’ve compiled our 8 top tips of things to consider (and avoid) when thinking about your wedding stationery!

1. Procrastinating Like a Pro
Ordering your wedding stationery last minute can be super stressful and could mean missing out on your dream design and finishing touches. Ideally, you should start the process 9 - 12 months before your wedding date if you are planning to send Save The Dates; and 6-8 months before the big day for your Main Invites! Working to this timeline will ensure there is ample time for design, revisions, printing, and addressing envelopes.

2. Keep your Stationery ‘On Theme’
Your wedding stationery should reflect your individual style and themes of your wedding. Think about how your stationery will complement your chosen colours, theme, or formality. Your invitations, save-the-dates, and on the day stationery items should create a cohesive look that sets the stage for your big day.
3. Keep it Simple
While creativity and personal touches are essential, overcomplicating your wedding stationery design is a faux-pas you’ll want to avoid. Overly complex designs with too many fonts, colours, or graphics can clutter your invitation suite, making it harder for guests to read. Keep it simple, elegant, and easy to understand - don’t worry this is where our expertise can help you!
4. Getting the Numbers Right
Ordering too few invitations might sound harmless, but it's a slippery slope. You don't want to be caught empty-handed when MOB reminds you about your cousin’s new plus-one! When ordering your stationery, think about the number of individuals, couples and family households. We always recommend adding a couple of extra invitations to your order for last-minute additions or keepsakes.

5. Consider your RSVP Deadline
Imagine guests RSVP-ing whenever they feel like it or last minute.com - Chaos, right (especially for the dreaded seating plan)? Don't forget to include a response deadline on your RSVP cards. Make it crystal clear when you need responses by and be sure to give yourself a couple of weeks leeway for deadlines set by your caterers or venue.

6. An Eye for Detail
Proof-reading is a MUST. Typos, incorrect dates, or missing information on your invitations will leave you with wedding nightmares, and can be costly to fix. Wedding stationery suppliers, like us, will always do their best to ensure your final design is error free but it’s always good to triple-check the details, especially if there have been any last minute changes. Why not ask a friend or family member to cast their eyes over the final design for peace of mind!

7. Postage Palavas:
Your wedding invitation suite may include additional pieces like RSVP cards, maps, and accommodation information and it’s easy to underestimate the postage costs associated with mailing these items. To avoid unexpected expenses, take a complete invitation suite to your local post office to get an idea of postage costs. It’s also all too common that there will be delivery delays, so keep this in mind when thinking about timelines. Let your wedding stationery suppliers know (yay if this is us!) when you’d like your guests to receive their invitations and decide a workback plan to keep the stress at bay

And last but definitely not least…

8. Create the Ultimate Guest Experience
Your stationery should be a breeze for your guests to navigate. Make sure the information is clear and includes all the details they need to know, and that design is a gateway to what they can expect on your special day in card form! It’ll make for a more memorable guest experience.
